Matthew Goetz founded Ascend AI in November of 2023. He brings over 20 years of traditional finance and digital investment experience. Before launching Ascend AI, he worked at Goldman Sachs for 11 years, from 2006 and left in 2017 to co-found the digital asset and cryptocurrency hedge fund, BlockTower Capital alongside Ari Paul, helping build it into one of the leading institutional crypto investment firms. In 2025, BlockTower Capital merged with Arca, marking a significant milestone in the digital asset investment space. His background across traditional finance and digital assets brings deep industry experience to Ascend AI.
